Knights

Everyone knows what a knight is, a warrior of virtue and skill.. but what they dont look at are there hidden talents within. A Knight is also a Champion of Causes outside that of justice as well. And since the GOTHIC Empire is just that a solid monarchy we now opened the Knight division. Now we know everyone is going to jump up and start asking questions and so allow us to clarify a few things first.

What is a Knight within the Empire?
Simply put.. a Knight is a champion who has through hard training and dedication swore a higher oath to its Sovereign and the forum itself. They are the Generals if war breaks and the teachers of tomorrow's youth.. person(s) of compassion, dedication, loyalty, and pride.. who love their government and its people. And who will do anything to protect those they love. They come from all walks of life those of the alignments of light, neutral, and dark. Let us now look into what it takes to become a Knight.

Becoming a Knight:
Studying the martial and arcane arts to an equal degree, the Knight is a versatile combatant who a cast spells on their foes or charges them with sword drawn. More so a Knight can heal allies, as well. The Knight takes pride in their ability to do their duties; spells against physically tough opponents, and force of arms against spell casters.

Knights split their time between physical training to become better soldiers, and arcane study to learn more powerful spells. They tend to be driven individuals because simultaneously perfecting their spellcasting and their combat prowess requires immense time and effort.

Training:
There are two levels of Knights within the Empire and we will discuss them both in some detail and the requirements of each. A note here is that only the Sovereign of the Empire may bestow any of the two levels found below as a rank of "honor" for services rendered in the Empire or for personal "honor" upon someone rising above the masses. Selected individuals have three weeks to meet the below listed requirements.

Squire:
All those who seek the knighthood spend some time as a Squire. Who then undergoes physical, mental and arcane training.. more training than the average warrior or assassin per say. With the rank of Squire comes public recognition, as well as some small tract of land and a Title of Nobility upon rising to the next level of the knighthood.

4. Misusing Forum Equipment:
The thing that get's on our nerves is when people go around striking people in unorganized/un-proctored matches. Fighting this way is a total waste of time and puts a bad name on the person and the forum they are registered in. Unless you're a group of friends it's no problem. But it's very different when you attack someone you hate or don't know. If someone reports you with "proof by log" be prepared to get -5 sides taken from your registered equipment.

Requirements:

    1. Must have an AOL/AIM based SN.
    2. Must reside or lay claim to a registered GOTHIC guild.
    3. Must have obtained at least a strength rating of 'd50' to begin training as a Squire.
    4. Must under go training and receive a Cleric and Healer registration.
    5. Must not have any flaws upon your honor.
    6. Must remain a Squire for at least three months before trying for higher levels.

Knight:
This rank of Knight is rarely achieved by most as it means the taking the final oath. They are Knights of the "Old Code"; but yet there very actions reflect how much they love their government.. and their arts. They actively go out and seek others to join with their government and lend help to all who ask it of them. They know any action they make reflects on them as a person as well as it reflecting upon the government itself.

Requirements:

    1. Must meet all the requirements of a Squire.
    2. Must at least atoned for or have no flaws upon your honor.
    3. Must have reached at least 'd85' in strength.
    4. Must have reached the highest level possible in Cleric training.
    5. Must have at least one of the following types of Enhancers:
1 Damage of at least +3 Strength
            1 Perception
1 Defense of at Least +3 strength
    6. Must swear the final oath in front of all Imperial Officials.

Honor:
All Knights live by honor, as it can be lost just as it can be gained. The following are ways one can lose honor in the knighthood and the punishments for such crimes. As for atonement one must seek out the Knight Protector and ask what they may do to atone for loss of honor, although major breaches of honor are deemed unforgivable.

"Cross Role-playing" will not be tolerated within the Empire. All titles and registration numbers earned will be stripped of the accused. Further more he/she shall be stripped of his rank within the government itself and exiled from Imperial territories.

"Mun bashing" will not be tolerated within the government. All titles and registration numbers earned will be stripped of the accused. Further more he/she shall be stripped of his rank within the government itself and exiled from the Imperial territories.

"Slandering other Guilds /Forums" - We are here to promote ourselves by not slandering others saying the are no good or poor compared to ourown. This crime is punishable by demotion within the knighthood until such time the Sovereign deems you have atoned for your actions.

"Harrassment of other individuals" - This is punishable by a formal reprimand from the Sovereign or Knight Protector.

"Prevoking a Fight" - Punishment depends on the severity of the fight and the actions that come after. We are here to promote ourselves by not provoking others saying they are no good or poor compared to our own and then trying to prove it by our martial prowess.

Posible punishments are becoming demoted within the knighthood until such time the Sovereign deems you have atoned for your actions.

"Starting a War with Unprideful Acts" - This crime will is punishable by all titles and registration numbers earned being stripped of the accused.

"Murder" - If found to have done a murder within a contract or reasonable cause, all titles and registration numbers earned being stripped of the accused.

"Rape" - This crime will is punishable by all titles and registration numbers earned being stripped of the accused.

"Disobedience" - This is punishable by a formal reprimand from the Sovereign or Knight Protector.

"Treason" - This crime will is punishable by all titles and registration numbers earned being stripped of the accused. Further morehe/she will be tried before the High Court, and the Grand Judge. The High Court shall decide the fate of the accused as we are a Realms of Justice and knowledge not as such traitorous dog's deserve.

Final Note:
Do honor upon all and you will be treated with honor. Do ill and you will be treated ill. Remember someone is always watching and thus will know if you have broken Imperial Laws or have tarnished your honor.
